Waitrose are currently working through the exact detail of this and will shortly start offering elderly and vulnerable customers priority access to waitrose.com delivery slots. They’ll be doing this in a number of ways, including contacting as many customers as they can who have previously identified themselves as elderly or vulnerable, contacting all registered customers over the age of 70 who have a waitrose.com account and a Partnership Card, and looking at how they can reach those on the list of vulnerable people the government intends to share with retailers.
They ask that customers wait for further communication from them on this.
The government will be providing supermarkets with a list of extremely vulnerable people whose data they will then match with their own customer database.
